Amy Luan joins lab as a visiting scholar from Monash University in Australia

Amy comes to us through a collaboration between the Conrad and O’Bryan labs as part of the International Male Infertility Genomics Consortium (IMIGC).

She is currently a PhD student in Moira O’Bryan’s lab at Monash University, School of Biological Sciences in Australia. For her thesis she works on identifying and validating novel genetic causes of male infertility in model organisms such as Drosophila and mouse, hoping to define genotype-phenotype relationships that could assist clinicians in the diagnosis and treatment of infertility patients.

During her visit to the Conrad Lab, Amy hopes to learn bioinformatics and various types of computational methods that can process large batches of biomedical data.

This is Amy’s first time overseas and she is excited to escape the winter down under! She is also loving Portland’s tax free shopping. Welcome Amy!
